Waterfall Filter Pond Kits
Our waterfall pond kits are for people that want to build a natural-style ecosystem pond using a waterfall filter. Why would you want to use a waterfall filter instead of a pressurized filter? Here are a few reasons:
Advantages of a Waterfall Filter Pond Kit
- Slightly less expensive than using an external pressurized filter (in most cases)
- Because the filter is also the waterfall spillway, the filter is hidden inside the waterfall and you don't need to find another place to hide it.
- A waterfall filter puts less pressure on the pump compared to a pressurized filter. This means that for the same pump, you usually end up with a little extra flow.
Disadvantages of a Waterfall Filter Pond Kit
- No automatic back-flush feature in the filter. This means that in order to clean the filter, the process is a bit more manual. With an external pressurized filter, it is as simple as turning a few valves and having the filter clean itself.
- The spillway size is determined by the size of the filter. If you wanted to make a wider or narrower waterfall, you might need to swap for a larger or smaller waterfall filter.
