Please note: We strongly advise using the filter bottom drain in conjunction with this filter. This convenient feature enables effortless cleaning by simply opening a knife valve while the pump is in operation. While the top pad will still require cleaning, the accumulated debris at the bottom will easily wash away, streamlining the maintenance process.

To determine minimum flow rates we suggest adding two 0's to the width. For a 22" wide waterfall spillway a minimum 2200 gph would be required to be the most visually appealing. For a more trickling waterfall you can cut this number in half (approximately 1100 gph), or you can double this value for a more 'niagara' style waterfall (approximately 4400 gph, or up to a filter max of 5000 gph).

How to Clean:

Unlike many other waterfall filters that are difficult to clean, Savio Waterfall filters have a drain for cleaning. Just gently agitate the media, and then drain the filter.
