To prevent automatic shutoff, ensure your ThermaKoi heater receives a minimum flow rate of 1200 GPH. While outdoor installation is possible, placing the unit in a sheltered area away from direct sunlight and rain will extend its lifespan. Avoid locations near sprinkler systems to prevent water from spraying into the heater from below, which could cause damage.
