During the winter months, most people in colder climates will winterize their pond and allow the pond to ice over for the winter.  If your pond contains any fish however, the ice can prevent important gas exchange between the air and water, endangering your fish.  Keeping an area of the pond free of ice is the best way to guarantee gas exchange happens properly.  A de-icer is one way to keep an area of the pond free of ice.  Just plug it in and allow it to float on the surface of the pond to keep the area free of ice.  Unlike with some other de-icers, all the electrical and thermal parts in the Perfect Climate series of deicers are fully enclosed to prevent damage to your pond and/or liner.
