The Matala Pad is a highly recommended add-on to the Helix skimmer. The pad acts as an additional mechanical filtration layer to filter out particles too small to be caught in the leaf basket.

The Matala Pad adds extra mechanical filtration to the Helix Skimmer. The pad is installed under the deck of the skimmer and above the pump. After water flows through the leaf basket, it flows through the filter pad, capturing any smaller particles that made it through the leaf basket.
