What size of pump should I use with this Waterfall Filter?

To choose a pump first determine what level of splashiness you want from your waterfall. Do you want a slow trickle of water or a fast moving, splashy waterfall? Our rule of thumb when sizing a waterfall is to pump 100 gallons of water, per inch of spillway. This is a minimum starting point for an even flow of water. If you want a more splashy effect you would increase this number. For example: if you choose a 12" wide spillway you would typically want to pump a minimum of 1200 gallons per hour. Using this baseline we would recommend the Alpine Hurricane 2100 pump. This pump is also compatible with spiral tubing making it a great choice for this waterfall filter!
